This week the Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz issued a campaign commercial which included his two young daughters, 7-year-old Caroline and 4-year-old Catherine. After his commercial was shown the Washington Post cartoonist Ann Telnaes drew a cartoon of Cruz and two little monkeys as his daughters. Telnaes defense for drawing the image was that since Cruz included the girls in his commercial to campaign they are fair game.
Since the cartoon was published many people have criticized the publishing but is it true?? When we post our kids on social media are they fair game to criticism? When we put all of our personal information on the internet or in the public are they fair game to criticism? Isn’t this what famous people complained about for years. Why is it alright for us to cut them down yet when it comes to our lives we have problems with it?
What do you think?
