Recently in the news there have been two highly publicized trials; one for the Boston Marathon bomber Dzhohar Tsarnaev who killed 3 and injured 264 and now the current trial for Colorado Movie gunman James Holmes who in 2012 went into a movie theater and killed 12 people and injured 70. Dzhouhar Tsarnaev was sentenced to death for his involvement in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, while James Holmes’ trial has been going on for the past two months. Both of these men committed a senseless act that killed and injured people which they will have to live with the damages forever.
During these trials both men are fighting for their lives which I don’t understand…they did not give that same opportunity to their victims. These men are trying to get their lives spared while the total 15 people that were killed due to their acts never got a chance to fight for their lives. I understand that we all deserve forgiveness, but isn’t that a smack in the face to the families that lost their ones?
